The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has praised the Zimbabwe Championships of Performing Arts (ZiCOPA) for raising the country’s flag high at a global stage.
ZICOPA had a team of 10 contestants who were representing Zimbabwe at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) dubbed the Olympics of the Arts from 3rd to 15th of July, where 63 other countries are participating in California.
“As ZTA, we have always given technical, financial or moral support to individuals and institutions who work in various disciplines in making Brand Zimbabwe known locally and abroad. I pay tribute for the ZICOPA contestants who represented the country well and deserved the heroes’ welcome at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport. I urge other individuals and institutions to emulate such a feat in putting our country on the map,” said Dr. Karikoga Kaseke, the ZTA Chief Executive
ZICOPA brought back home some 19 medals medals comprising 5 Gold; 8 Silver; 6 Bronze; 2 overall division winner trophies; 4 semi finalist medals; 1 finalist medal; and 2 scholarships valued at $20 000 and $30 000 as well as one Summer scholarship.
